Tranquilization /Sedation

We understand that visiting the veterinary clinic can sometimes be stressful for your furry companions, especially if they are uncomfortable or anxious during certain procedures like exams, bloodwork and nail trims. We want to assure you that we prioritize the well-being and comfort of your pets above all else. If your pet exhibits signs of discomfort during their visit, such as trembling, vocalizing, or attempting to escape, we may recommend a “chill-out protocol.” This protocol involves dispensing medication to help ease their nerves and make their veterinary experience more comfortable. By administering medication tailored to your pet’s needs, we aim to create a more relaxed environment for them, ultimately enhancing their overall veterinary experience.

Also, if car rides, travel, thunder, or fireworks upset your pet, he or she may benefit from mild sedation to help keep them comfortable and calm. While sedated, your pet will stay awake or may sleep lightly, but can be roused when stimulated. To minimize any potential risks associated with sedation, we need to assess each animal individually before we dispense any medication. Please contact us if you would like to set up an assessment to discuss sedation with us.
